The Next Silent Hill Remakes that we Horror Fans Deserve

The Silent Hill 2 Remake was a surprising success that I did not expect.
Bloober Team really threw it out of the park when it came the sequel, and we fans were given a fantastic psychological journey that felt so fresh and new! The remake is definitely tied with the original in my opinion, and I adore both games.
Silent Hill 2 is my most favorite horror game of all time, and I literally shed a tear when I learned of the remake announcement. When I played the remake, it felt so surreal, and I immediately fell in love with it. I actually shed a couple of tears when I finished the remake, it was perfect.
There are a lot of Silent Hill games that deserve a remake, and I think that Bloober Team can continue to do a great job developing the rest of the franchise!
Silent Hill 1
I unfortunately never had the opportunity to play the first Silent Hill game, but I at least finally got to check out the story through YouTube. Wow, I was really blown away by how dark and disturbing this story was! Harry Mason is a really good protagonist, and it's sad to see a hero struggle to search for his daughter while enduring horrific events in the town of Silent Hill.
Even though I really want a Silent Hill 3 remake so badly, I think it would be smart to remake the first game to the franchise. It would be a good introduction for Harry Mason, the father of the main character in the third game, due to the events that occur in the next part of his story.
I won't spoil anything major for the third game, but I think it makes sense to remake the first one for us fans to be prepared to control the next protagonist of Harry's family, the daughter of Harry Mason.
Silent Hill 3
So yeah, a lot of time passes with Harry and his daughter, and Silent Hill eventually comes back for the family. Heather is an independent girl who is brave and straightforward when it comes to her scary situation, and it's pretty hilarious in several scenes to watch her deal with the evil around her.
The way she stands up to everyone who would dare to challenge her is crazy, considering how insane some of these characters are in the third game. I think only one person is actually a good guy, and the rest are infatuated with Silent Hill.
This game also contains a lot of imagery that would be disturbing to many, and I'm curious if the remake would actually keep the dark implications from the original!
Silent Hill 4: The Room
Silent Hill 4 is another game that I wasn't able to play. It was never released on Xbox 360, Xbox One, or PS5. I wish one day that we will get a remastered version, because I freaking love this story.
I think the fourth was the last perfect Silent Hill game we got. Like seriously, the first four games are masterpieces! I love the concept of the player being locked in a room, in his own apartment, with no way out...all because Silent Hill won't let him leave.
And the villain we get in this game is terrifying! Walter Sullivan is probably the scariest villain in the entire franchise! He is both a monster to hate and feel sorry for, because Silent Hill is the reason why he became evil in the first place. His childhood was ripped away from him when he lost his mother, and his trauma was so awful, that we meet two versions of him in the game, his adult and child self.
I think that Bloober Team is already hinting at this next remake, because I did find two clues in the Silent Hill 2 Remake that mentioned Walter Sullivan. If they are planning this remake soon, I'm freaking excited!
Silent Hill Homecoming
Silent Hill Homecoming 100% needs a remake. In my opinion, this is the weakest game when it comes to the story and its characters, but the disturbing twist is what truly makes this game great! This was probably the game that is really mixed when it comes to the fans.
I did have fun playing this game, but I did get quite a bit frustrated when it came to the main character. Alex Shepard feels overpowered when it comes to the franchise of Silent Hill. He is extremely flexible, and knows how to fight. I think that the developers should remove this part of the character in the remake for sure. The main point of Silent Hill is to feel helpless, not feel that you have a chance at surviving!
I do love the concept to this game, when it comes to the boss fights. Their designs are incredible, and to top it off, we get one of the most messed up concepts in all of the Silent Hill games. The boss monsters are actually children who came back from the dead in monster form!
That is genius story idea, and that is the only reason why I find myself playing this game again!
Also, I hope they remove Pyramid Head from this game as well, because he only belongs in the sequel of the franchise, nowhere else!
Silent Hill Downpour
Silent Hill Downpour is another game that was really mixed when it came to the fans. I thought this game had a great story, but I could not stand the gameplay. I was so disappointed to learn that the inventory was so limited when it came to this game, and I was so frustrated whenever I played this game.
I've only played this game once, due to the lack of weapons for this entry in the franchise!
And that's because I love this story a lot, but the gameplay was the only reason why I don't go back to playing this game...and it's a shame, because the story idea is excellent! I love the thought of a prisoner being the main character in a Silent Hill game. The story is so dark too, and I felt so sorry for two of the main characters in this game.
This entry deserves a remake, and all they need to fix is the gameplay, and add more boss fights.
The boss fights kind of sucked in this game...because we didn't get any. Just a couple.
I can't wait for the Silent Hill franchise to continue...man, we Silent Hill fans are finally getting the great games that we deserve!
