The Darkest Moment of The Walking Dead

Image
Credit to  Goodbye Lizzie & Mika | The Walking Dead | Grove The Walking Dead is one of the best zombie shows that depicted many dark scenes throughout the entire show. A show that focuses on the survival of the main group as they go against both humans and the dead doesn't exactly mean a walk in the park. One scene in season 4 that stayed with me for a long time was two deaths that were quite unexpected. A woman named Carol was traveling with five people when their home had been destroyed by one of their enemies. Carol had been unfortunately kicked out of the group for killing two innocent people to protect everyone, and she reunited with a man named Tyreese, who had been traveling with three children.  One of them was a baby, and the other two were two girls named Lizzie and Mika that Carol had developed a motherly bond with before she was kicked out of the group. The group decides to work together to survive, and they stay in a cabin to claim as their new home. Th...

My Biggest Problem with the Twilight Franchise

Image
Credit to Netflix Twilight became a huge hit years later when the franchise was first released. It gained a massive fan base, when it came to the story, the love triangle, and of course, the books which led to the creation of the films.  Personally, I was not a fan of Twilight at all.  I understand why people were a fan of the franchise, but I have a huge problem with the story for several reasons. I'm not saying that the whole franchise was bad, because when it came to the lore of the monsters, I thought there were actually pretty decent ideas. I liked how the vampires had their own clan, while the werewolves had issues with a family of vampire wanting to look after a young human girl.  It's not bad writing, but when it came to several storylines within the franchise, it kind of took me out of the interesting ideas that were present.  I didn't like the stupid love triangle between the three main characters...and the way that it was resolved was very problemat...

Deathstalker is a Perfect Homage to Cheesy 80s Horror

Image
Credit to Deathstalker (2025) | Where to watch streaming and online in Australia | Flicks Deathstalker was released in 2025, and had gained somewhat of a cult following, due to the film being a remake of the original Deathstalker, that was released in 1983. I haven’t seen the original yet, but I think this film is one of the best remakes ever made. The practical effects were top tier; it was like a combination of the Terrifier and the Evil Dead franchise in one movie.  I love how cheesy and dumb the dialogue felt in the movie, the actors did a great job pulling off the feel of an 80s horror movie. The world building was incredible, the monsters that were built for the film were so impressive to look at, I can’t imagine how long it took to pull this movie off! I wish Hollywood would consider going back to the good old times of filmmaking, independent filmmakers have been dominating this year with the horror genre! We follow the story of a man named Deathstalker, who is accide...

Death of the Family Features the Most Deranged Joker in DC

Image
Credit to How come Joker didn’t bleed out, when he got his face cut off? (Death of the Family) — Gen. Discussion — Comic Vine Death of the Family is one of the few Joker comics that I own. I’m not a huge fan of every Joker comic out there, but this story caught me off guard so much…in the best way. This version of the Joker is a whole other level of evil, willing to do whatever it takes to take down Batman.  This time, he wants to psychologically destroy Batman, and the lengths that he had gone through to pull this insane scheme off…is downright EVIL.  And we know how evil Joker is, but this was a whole other level.  His goal this time around was to ‘murder’ the family of Batman.  He wanted to break apart the family for good, in order to ensure that Batman would always be alone, and only have the Joker left.  He kidnaps the entire main family of Batman, such as: Robin Batgirl Nightwing Red Hood Each family member is psychologically tortured in horrendous ...

La Femme Nikita is a Surprisingly Dark Television Show

Image
Credit to  Prime Video: La Femme Nikita: The Complete Second Season I'm barely on the first season of La Femme Nikita, and I was expecting this to be your typical spy television show about a woman who becomes an expert spy among her own crew of people. However, this show is much darker than I anticipated. We follow the story of a young woman named Nikita, who is randomly kidnapped by a government program known as the Section, who train people who won't be missed into killer machines. From the very first episode, Nikita expresses a lot of doubt with the Section, feeling like this program is ruthless and unforgiving when it comes to every single mission. Even though the Section is determined to save lives, they are willing to kill several innocents to get the job done, as long as the missions will always go their way. Nikita is like a breathe of fresh air among the crew, she is the only one who is determined to keep her humanity intact, and she is constantly fighting against w...

Trad Wife is One of the Most Brutal Horror Stories of 2026

Image
Credit to Trad Wife a book by Saratoga Schaefer — Bookshop.org US Trad Wife is the second horror story written by Saratoga Schaefer, and it’s another masterpiece. Saratoga had written Serial Killer Support Group, and it was one of the best horror books I had read in 2025. I think Trad Wife is easily in the top 5 for 2026 so far, and I was blown away by how violent and tragic this story was.  We follow the story of a young woman named Camille, who is living her life as a housewife. She is married to a man named Graham, who is the dream guy. She dreams of starting a family, and is excited to become popular on social media, sharing her life as a mother. Unfortunately, Camille is having trouble with getting pregnant. She wants to try having a baby with Graham, but something is wrong with her husband.  He doesn’t want to even spend time with her anymore, and she is left unhappy for the first time. She gains a friend named Renee, a random neighbor that appears a bit too nosy ...

Gone Girl's Amy Dunne is a Terrifying Twist Villain

Image
Credit to  'Gone Girl' Movie Feminist or Misogynist? On Cool Girls and Psychopaths Amy Dunne from Gone Girl has always been one of the most mysterious and terrifying villains I have seen in a thriller. The movie goes from a drama/crime to horror when we begin to see Amy's true evil colors throughout the film. From the very beginning of the film, we know something happened to Amy, but we are conflicted with whether or not her husband, Nick Dunne, had anything to do with her sudden disappearance.  Nick Dunne is suspected of her disappearance, and the authorities, including the public, believe he is guilty of what happened to Amy. So much evidence is piling up against him, but it turns out to be a lie, created by Amy. She had learned of Nick's cheating on her with a younger woman, and decided he needed to be punished. She slowly built-up evidence of against him, to craft a plan of faking her death, to make the whole world believe that Nick is a monster that killed his wi...
