'Gotta Light' is the Best Episode of Twin Peaks

Image
Credit to  Gotta light? : r/twinpeaks I kept hearing about one specific episode from Twin Peaks, that was considered to be one of the best episodes ever written for a television show. I finally understand what fans meant by this, and episode 8 of season 3 of Twin Peaks, is one of the best episodes in television history.  Even though I didn't understand half of what was happening, the visuals, the insanity that was taking place created a fever dream that I will never forget.  Season 3 of Twin Peaks continues straight from the ending of season 2, where our main character named Dale Cooper, became trapped in a dimension known as the Black Lodge. His evil doppelganger took his place in the real world, and tormented so many people that Cooper was close to, along with murder. His evil doppelganger has been in the real world for 25 years, and someone finally got the jump on this monster.  He was working together with a man that he was aware had betrayed him, and he w...

War of the Worlds (2005) Features One of the Most Terrifying Scenes in Horror Cinema

Image
Credit to  War of the Worlds (2005) — Review — Mana Pop My family and I were having a nice homecooked dinner of burgers when my sister decided to put on an old film I haven’t seen in years. I recognized Tom Cruise, and realized we were watching War of the Worlds, the remake that was released in 2005. I had seen this film years ago, and couldn’t remember how the aliens arrived to planet Earth. I completely forgot that the aliens had cut off complete contact for the human race, watches stopped, cars stopped working, electricity was gone…the goal was to leave humans completely hopeless. Then something crashed onto the Earth, crashing in the town where the main character and his two children lived. My heart stopped when a tripod emerged slowly out of the ground in the middle of the road, as people watched this thing slowly rise in aw...

Why Are There So Many Different Books of the Dead in the Evil Dead Franchise?

Image
Credit to  Haunting Texts and Eldritch Tomes: Seven Scary Books That Thankfully Aren’t Real - Reactor The one thing that I have noticed about the Evil Dead franchise is how many books appear to exist in the franchise. I'm aware that the Evil Dead television show has explained the Evil Dead lore, but I'd rather go over the books, since Evil Dead's Army of Darkness specifically mentions three different Books of the Dead that appear in the old trilogy, the Evil Dead remake, and the recent entry of Evil Dead Rise.  Three different books are present only the films, and now, we are getting a fourth Book of the Dead in Evil Dead Burn, the newest entry in the franchise that will be releasing this summer.  I have a theory as to why are there are so many Books of the Dead.  Here is the information that we are aware of: The books are all made out of human skin, and are inked in blood.  There are three books present in the old trilogy, and the other two from Evil Dea...

Obsession is Now My New Obsession

Image
Credit to Obsession Review: A Confident Crowd-Pleaser With A Killer Lead Performance I have seen the recent trailer to the one of the most anticipated horror movies among horror fans. Obsession has captured my attention sometime this year when I watched the first teaser trailer. We only knew that some random young dude was calling customer service, asking if there was any way to undo a wish. The man on the other line assures him that undoing a wish is impossible, and this random guy appears quite concerned over this realization.  This concept immediately caught my attention, because it’s pretty rare to see a horror movie like this. Or a good horror movie with this concept, because from the ones I had seen in the past, none of these films were able to get this concept right.  Now it appears that one finally did.  From the new trailer that we horror fans have been introduced to; it looks like it’s going to be a wild ride.  This young man has a major crush on thi...

Why the Vought Rising Prequel is a Good Idea for The Boys

Image
Credit to  'The Boys' Boss Eric Kripke Breaks Down Soldier Boy's Reaction to Butcher's Supe Virus (Exclusive) While I am against spinoffs in Hollywood, because I see it as either a cash grab or writers are running out of ideas, I'm completely fine with prequels. Having a before story is always so fun to watch, because we are able to get a glimpse into the past, and how so many events transpired in the future. The prequel to The Boys, Vought Rising, is a damn good idea for this franchise.  And it's even better that Soldier Boy is going to be one of the lead stars.  Soldier Boy's character is a bit of an asshole in The Boys, and dude doesn't appear to give a damn about anyone but himself. He did go through the trauma of his old team known as Payback, selling him out to people to become experimented on, but I think his team's actions were justified, because he didn't appear to treat his own group the best.  Soldier Boy also didn't hesitate to ...

Possession (1981) is a Metaphor of a Crumbling Marriage

Image
Credit to  Possession (1981) – Andrzej Zulawski – The Mind Reels Possession is one of the most brutal horror films ever made. It feels like you're being exposed to the personal lives of a family, and it feels so wrong to watch these people stuck in a failing marriage. This movie is about a young woman who admits to her husband that she is having an affair, and wants to leave him. He becomes outraged and obsessed with her, angry that she would dare to ruin their marriage, and leave behind their only son.  The couple beat each other and appear to even take a sick delight with harming one another, as they both try to navigate this toxic love now within their marriage. During the film, we later learn the man that Anna, the wife, is having an affair with. It turns out to be a real monster, a creature that has appeared to latch onto Anna, leaving her wanting more, and turning her into a crazed mad woman. Mark, the husband, eventually finds out about this creature, and instead...

It's Impossible to Rank Mike Flanagan's Horror Television Shows

Image
Credit to Netflix I have been asked by several family members or friends if I could rank all of the Mike Flangan’s TV shows. My answer is always the same.  It’s impossible to rank the shows.  Each show is it’s own standalone story, and it’s masterfully crafted by Flanagan, giving horror fans all kinds of horror that we will never forget.  I’m only going to focus on the main four, which is The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Fall of the House of Usher. I’m now going to explain why every show stands out in its own way.  The Haunting of Hill House is a story about a family who is haunted by their childhood trauma from their old home.  Credit to Grabuge Mag — Binge-watching en série à Noël : The Haunting of Hill House sur Netflix - This masterpiece was the perfect introduction into the horror world of Mike Flanagan. Dare I say, that this show is actually better than the book. We go back and forth between the...
