Poppy's Playtime is a Great Indie Horror Game
I did not expect Poppy’s Playtime to deliver such a deep storyline that left me sad and freaking out. It’s like playing a game to the movie franchise of Pixar’s Toy Story, but a rated R version of the story!
Poppy’s Playtime follows the story of a main character who returns to the toy factory that is filled with a disturbing backstory. The company performed horrible experiments on children, turning them into toys that would cause nothing but chaos and death.
The main character teams up with toys to take down something known as The Prototype, the leader of the toys that gave themselves up to serve this evil bastard. I love how the game delivers a fantastic cast of voice acting throughout this entire story!
One particular I loved was Doey in chapter 4. His voice actor did awesome, and I really felt his pain whenever he grew angry with what he had to face in this toy factory. Every single voice actor did not hold back on their emotions, and it was incredible to listen to!
I also love the use of live — action in this game, it makes the circumstances of what took place in the toy factory feel so much worse, knowing that these toys were once people, children who suffered at the hands of the company.
I didn’t really care to play the game, so I binged it online through YouTube. I loved the ending scene with chapter 4, I don’t want to spoil anything here for those who haven’t played the next chapter.
All I can say is that I’m so damn excited for chapter 5!
