We Are Getting John Carpenter's 'The Thing' from the Game Studio that Made 'Until Dawn'

I am both excited and nervous about this announcement. It has been so long since we horror fans have gotten something similar of John Carpenter’s The Thing brought to the big screen.

After the unfortunate downfall of The Thing prequel that was butchered by the studio (there is a whole story to this film’s failure, I will write about this topic later), I’m left to wonder if we will ever get another awesome adaptation of this Sci — Fi/horror story.

While I think the Supermassive will do this story justice, I have been hearing from fans that Until Dawn and House of Ashes were the only good stories so far that this game studio has created.

The story is going to follow the same pattern of The Thing 1982 film. There is something among the crew that is picking them one by one on board of their ship in space, and the paranoia is building among the crew.

I’m curious how the studio is going to capture the same feeling of this kind of fear from the original story. I’m also hoping that we get the best actors for this game, because in order to pull off the fear, we need awesome actors that know how to act terrified.

Alright, this sounds like a nit-pick, but who the hell is going to act nonchalant when it comes to a horrific situation like this???
What do you horror fans think of this development?

Directive 2080 will be releasing sometime in October this year.

Here is the trailer to the game, and I got to say, it looks pretty damn promising so far!
