I Believe We Will Get One Major Death in the Finale of Stranger Things
I have predicted multiple deaths in the final season of Stranger Things, but I think there is one death that could be the only death in the final episode of the popular TV show.
Even though I was hoping for multiple deaths in the final season, I think I'm fine with this one character dying. This is the only character that truly deserves a huge redemption, and it makes perfect sense story wise, for this person to be the only one to die.
Will Byers will be the one major death that I believe will take place in the final episode.
From the very first season, this poor kid has been tortured by Vecna. He has been used as a spy, experimented with the powers of Vecna, and he suffered so much trauma at his hands, becoming too afraid to be brave during all situations with the Upside Down.
However, Will has finally turned the tables on Vecna, proving to be a worthy adversary to this monster. He has finally been given a complete character arc in the final season, and it is starting to see like a sort of goodbye to Will Byers.
He has gained his new powers, and even though they can only be activated when he is near the hive mind, he is still an absolute menace. He can hurt him while controlling Vecna at the same time, and Vecna seemed taken aback by this realization during their first battle in the second half of season 5.
Will also has finally told his family and friends about his true self, and he looked so relieved when everyone accepted him. He knew that Vecna would use this secret against him during the final battle, and Will was strong enough to finally accept himself.
And I think I have an idea on how Will is going to die in the final episode.
Will is going to sacrifice himself with Vecna.
In the second half of Stranger Things season 5, we have learned about a huge twist that was pretty shocking. Dustin, Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan were exploring the Upside Down, working on a plan that Dustin had to somehow break through the wall in the Upside Down. Instead, they learned a much darker truth.
The Upside Down, their world, Vecna's world, is all connected to a bridge, that is in time and space. Nancy accidentally shoots a powerful source in the Upside Down, that turns out to be the main thing holding the bridge together. If it ever gets completely destroyed, the Upside Down will be swallowed whole, taking everything inside with it.
In episode 7, the whole crew goes to the Upside Down to fight Vecna one last time, hinting that this battle is going to be intense. Their big plan is go save the children from Vecna, blow up the Upside Down with Vecna inside, and escape before the bomb goes off.
I think that Will is going to be left behind to fight Vecna one last time, buying time for everyone to escape. He will have no choice but to interfere, because I think that something bad will take place during the escape, leading to Will holding back Vecna with his powers.
I think this is the perfect way for Will's character to die, as they both perish in the explosion, along with the Upside Down. Vecna has always been in control of Will his whole childhood, and now Will is going to be the one to finally turn the tables on his rival.
It's the perfect end for both characters, and it would be so bittersweet, knowing that Will died to save his friends and family.
