5 Horror Movies with High Death Counts
I have watched a lot of horror movies that involved a lot of characters getting killed by a slasher or a supernatural threat. I love it when horror movies always go for the extreme, making sure to let the audience know that no one is safe!
There are way too many horror movies that feature a huge death count, and I would like to go over several horror movies that deserve to be in this category!
I know there are a lot more horror movies out there with crazy death counts, so I'm planning to write more articles like this later for you horror fans!
Here are five horror movies with high kill counts!
Major warning before I continue, huge spoilers for each movie I'm going to talk about here!
TURN BACK NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS!
5. Vicious Fun
Credit to VICIOUS FUN (2020) • Frame Rated
Vicious Fun is probably in the top ten most original horror movies ever made. We follow a movie horror critic named Joel who stumbles upon a sort of therapy group for serial killers, and has to find a way to survive from each of these crazy bastards.
Joel is able to team up with a mystery woman named Carrie who is determined to take down every single killer in that group. We get a pretty high death count, that consists of serial killers and random innocents who get pulled into this insane chaos!
The kills are also pretty gnarly, so that's a huge bonus for us horror fans!
4. From Dusk Till Dawn
This movie shows a shitload of death. We follow the story of two outlaws who are on the run. They stumble upon a family, and they take them as their hostages. The group stops by a bar, where they encounter absolute madness.
The group is forced to take on multiple vampires within this bar, and they fight to the death. The group forms alliances with two other random dudes, who join them in the fray to defeat these bloodthirsty beasts. This movie does not hesitate to kill any of the characters.
We get a lot of vampire and human deaths, and let me tell you, the vampire transformations in this movie will freak you out!
3. X
X is a great modern slasher that brings back the old school 70s slashers that we horror fans love. We follow a group of people who travel to a barn in the middle of nowhere to film a movie.
Unfortunately, the group has no idea that the residents that let them stay at the barn to film their movie, are secretly a duo of serial killers. Every single death in this movie is gory and beyond unexpected. I really liked how realistic each death was in this film, because the killers were actually old people who were only human, not supernatural.
There are also a lot of traumatizing sequences that will freak any horror fan out!
2. The Mist
The Mist is one of the best monster films ever made in horror. We follow a small town who find themselves caught in some kind of unknown mist. The main characters and other members of the town lock themselves inside of a grocery store, trying to figure out what is going on with the mist.
We get our answers when creatures are hiding within the mist, killing several of the people from the store. Everyone struggles to band together in this horrifying new world, as some of the people begin to go mad from their terror.
The Mist reveals one of the best and most tragic endings to a horror movie too!
1. The Thing (1982)
The Thing is an all-time classic that I will always love. We follow the story of a large group of men who work on a base located in Antarctica, who discover two men attempting to kill a dog that runs onto their base. The men take the dog in once the other two strangers are both killed in self-defense, and the characters soon come to learn that something is wrong with the dog.
We get incredible practical effects with the alien creature who was disguised as the dog, and it continues to take on the forms of several members of the group, killing anyone who stands in its way. The kill count in this film is freaking crazy, and it's tragic to watch these men die in fear.
Getting killed in the snow by an alien presence really sucks!
What other horror movies with huge death counts do you want me to talk about next??
