Horror Movie Trailers Are Starting to Piss Me Off Again

I went to the movies last night to go watch the film, Babygirl.

The movie surprised me in many ways, and I was left speechless multiple times. Like what the heck did I just watch??

Before the movie began, like in any theater, I was watching several trailers.

I watched three horror movie trailers that caught my attention:

1. Companion is going to be released on January 31st.

Even though I now have an idea what the movie is going to be about, not enough was shown for me to fully understand just what the hell was going on. I won’t spoil anything here, because I know that this film is going to be a complete surprise to everyone. The premise is already so original!

2. Death of a Unicorn is going to be released sometime this year.

The trailer showed enough for me to become invested, and I died of laughter in several scenes. The cast also looks really awesome, and the monster that will be appearing in this film is insanely original.

3. Wolfman is going to be released on January 17th.

This is the trailer that pissed me off.

I don’t think the trailer should have showed that much of the film. I was excited for it at first, but now I’m a little in between.

It really sucks when trailers take the fun out of a horror movie for me.

Just like Abigail for me last year, I was so upset that we got the biggest spoiler of the movie. With the Wolfman trailer, we get the same thing. We get the biggest reveal, and I was kind of upset when I saw it.

Why spoil something so big?

The premise of a werewolf is already freaking fascinating, but the trailer still felt the need to show the major spoiler. I don’t want to say what it is for those who haven’t seen it, but for those who have, I’m sure you felt the same way.

I want to be surprised when I watch a movie. I love it when trailers don’t give everything away. I really wish studios would realize that we don’t need to see everything to be convinced to go and watch the movie!

I will always continue to praise Longlegs that came out last year for their trailers. Wow, did they know how to market a movie!

Perhaps a lot of movie studios should consider taking advice from the people behind this particular marketing strategy!

Sorry for ranting, I just had to let it out. I’m still kind of upset.

I love being shocked when I watch a movie!

Especially a film associated with the horror genre!
