What is Horror?

 


I'm not sure if I have ever asked this question before, but what is horror?

I know that a lot of horror fans have an idea of what horror is, but do we really have a proper description of this particular genre?

I think it's kind of hard to explain, due to the fact that everyone has their own interpretation of what horror is. The same thing that scares each of us in horror won't be seen as scary to others. 

I know several people who are terrified of body horror, but it doesn't scare me. 
 
In my opinion, body horror is amazing to look at, because the practical effects to pull off the body horror masterpieces is incredible work!

What really scares me is the thought of being alone in the dark. 

After watching The Blair Witch Project for the first time, I realized that is what truly frightens me. 

Being alone in the woods with no way out, trapped in the dark, knowing that something is out there waiting for you...

That terrifies me to another level. 

I couldn't imagine being stalked by something out there, hiding in the dark, knowing that at any moment, it will find me. 

Now that is scary!

The Final Season of 'You' Ends on a Powerful Note

People have always been mixed on what they think of this show, but I have always loved the insanity of this crazy serial killer.  Joe Goldberg is such a complex character who thrives on the power of love and is willing to do whatever it takes for the next woman he falls for.  He never hesitates to murder anyone, including his love interest. If she stops loving him, he will not hesitate to murder her. That is the main reason why Joe is freaking scary. He will be your knight in shining armor, but once that image of love is taken from him, he will show his true nature.  I loved how the final season focused on Joe’s evil self. While the first four seasons purposely viewed his character sort of like an antihero, the final season does not hold back on Joe’s evil side. Horror Movie Trailers Are Starting to Piss Me Off Again

  Credit to Rotten Tomatoes  I went to the movies last night to go watch the film,  Babygirl . The movie surprised me in many ways, and I was left speechless multiple times. Like what the heck did I just watch?? Before the movie began, like in any theater, I was watching several trailers. I watched three horror movie trailers that caught my attention: 1. Companion is going to be released on January 31st.  Credit to Bloody Disgusting Even though I now have an idea what the movie is going to be about, not enough was shown for me to fully understand just what the hell was going on.  I won’t spoil anything here, because I know that this film is going to be a complete surprise to everyone.
