Why do Horror Movies Continue to Spoil the Main Plot Points???
I have already written about this topic loads of times already, but who the hell cares? I don’t get why I expect trailers to not spoil the entire movie, but I still find myself so surprised.
And shocked.
Shocked that studios allow their movies to spoil the entire film.
Or should I say the main plot point?
Please turn back now, because I’m about to delve into major spoiler territory right now for the new Sinners trailer releasing this year.
I’m pretty damn mad right now.
Why…just why give up the main plot point?
I can’t imagine how shocked I would have been watching this movie.
Alright. Here goes. Here is the major twist that should have been kept a secret.
The movie is about a group of people getting hunted by vampires.
Why give up this major spoiler to audiences? Can you imagine how awesome it would have been for horror fans if we had not known about this twist?
It could have been another Dusk Till Dawn moment, because I heard that this movie did not give up anything about the vampire twist. The trailer mostly focused on the brothers trying to get away from the authorities.
Horror fans freaked out over this reveal, and in my opinion, that is genius.
I honestly should stop watching trailers at this point. My excitement for Sinners has completely dwindled into a speck of dust.
Studios apparently don’t know what the word ‘surprise’ means.
