Why 'Supernatural' Needs Season 16

THIS ARTICLE WILL CONTAIN MAJOR SPOILERS OF THE SUPERNATURAL SEASON 15 ENDING.

Supernatural has been one of the best horror related shows ever brought to horror fans. We got demons, monsters, crazy killers, Lovecraftian beasts, and then we got people known as hunters who were going out in the world to protect people from these evil threats.

The show ended on season 15, and it was quite a disappointing and bittersweet way to end the show. The ending pissed off a lot of fans, due to how rushed the ending felt. I personally haven’t seen the ending yet, I am still on season 14.

I did end up hearing about the ending, and I was in shock.

Once I heard that Dean got his ass killed by a nail in the finale, I was pretty upset about this. Why the writers wanted to have one of the best characters who was unkillable get killed like this is beyond me.

Compared to Dean, Sam’s ending was a nice one. He got to live his life the way he always wanted, raising a family in peace.

Castiel died, but at least he died in peace, knowing that he got to confess his love for Dean before he joined Jack in the afterlife, helping him look after Heaven.

So, I think I was more unhappy with Dean’s ending than the rest of the characters. It was plain stupid, and it was another unfortunate show that was affected by the pandemic.

I have now recently learned that Supernatural is going to have a big reunion. Fans have speculated it could be hinting at Season 16.

In my opinion, we need at least one more season to fix two major things for the story.

1. Dean needs a better ending.

This is the number one thing that the show needs to fix. It would be kind of funny to bring Dean back to life one more time, (since Dean and Sam die who knows how many times throughout the show), or he could be watching over Sam in spirit, while helping Jack and Castiel in Heaven.

I’m not sure what kind of threat would be introduced in season 16. Like maybe a secret powerful demon could go after Sam as revenge, and it will be up to the trio in Heaven to protect the remaining Winchester family member?

It would also be an excellent ending for Dean’s character, because he would keep his promise of always watching over his brother!

2. The new season must bring up Castiel’s sudden love confession to Dean.

This is hands down one of the most important things the show needs to address. Castiel died once he had confessed his love for Dean, and there was no time for either of them to talk about this realization.

I would love to see Dean and Castiel have a serious talk about this in the possible final season with 16, because it would make no sense if Dean were to just shrug it off. Of course he is going to want to talk about it, since Castiel is literally his best friend.

I’m curious how the duo would talk about it, and I’m sure that the actors will do a phenomenal job with this serious discussion.

What do you Supernatural fans think about this? What other storylines are you hoping that the possible future season needs to mention?
