I Accidentally Deleted a Horror Story From a New Writing Platform I Found

Image
Credit to  Angry Woman Shouting · Free Stock Photo I feel like I just got my ass kicked. I experienced one of the worst feelings in the world just now, and I haven’t felt this in years.  A horror story I had finished up got completely deleted.  I had found a new writing platform called Vocal Media, and I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, for this site, you need to click on save changes, or the story will automatically be deleted. It warned me two times before I got out of the page, but I mistaken the site for being like Medium.  I went back to check on my draft, just because.  And it was gone.  Completely gone.  I got so mad. It was one of my absolute favorite horror stories I ever worked on. And I lost it.  What the hell was that??? I was going to write a future article about Vocal Media, but I wanted to share one thing I already hate about the site. It doesn’t save automatically like Medium does. And it’s impossible to get ba...

Serial Killer Support Group is One of the Best Horror Novels I Have Read in 2025

Image
Credit to  Serial Killer Support Group: A Novel: Schaefer, Saratoga: 9798892422307: Amazon.com: Books I had found this novel by accident while going through the selection that was half price at Barnes & Noble. The only reason why I picked this novel, was because of the title. How could I ignore a title like that? Serial Killer Support Group is way too original and already sounds like a fun horror novel. Of course, the horror fan in me could not resist! I think the most shocking part about this novel, is that I wasn’t expecting this book to be one of the best horror novels I have read this year. I expected the book to be your typical slasher, but it was much more than that! We follow the story of a young woman named Cyra Griffin, who has lost her sister, Mira. She goes to the police, but they don’t have enough evidence to figure out who killed her. All they know is that it was a serial killer. Upon learning this information, Cyra decides to take matters into her own hand...

The Final Season of 'You' Ends on a Powerful Note

Image
Credit to Google This article will contain major spoilers of You season 5. I am beyond thrilled with how You ended. People have always been mixed on what they think of this show, but I have always loved the insanity of this crazy serial killer.  Joe Goldberg is such a complex character who thrives on the power of love and is willing to do whatever it takes for the next woman he falls for.  He never hesitates to murder anyone, including his love interest. If she stops loving him, he will not hesitate to murder her. That is the main reason why Joe is freaking scary. He will be your knight in shining armor, but once that image of love is taken from him, he will show his true nature.  I loved how the final season focused on Joe’s evil self. While the first four seasons purposely viewed his character sort of like an antihero, the final season does not hold back on Joe’s evil side. We get a new glimpse into his character this time around, because in the earlier seasons,...

Mister Magic is a Compelling Horror Mystery

Image
Credit to  Amazon.com: Mister Magic: A Novel: 9780593359266: White, Kiersten: Books This was one of the few books I purchased at Barnes & Noble, because I heard that horror fans were really into the horror ideas presented in this novel. Plus, the horror cover to this novel is freaking awesome. It fits the vibe of the story so well, and I immediately knew I was going to read a masterpiece. And I have to say, this is probably one of the best horror stories I have read in 2025. The story follows a woman named Val, who works at a ranch, carrying on her father’s work. Her dad unfortunately passes away, and while she is at the funeral, a group of people introduce themselves to her, and she finds herself whisked away to an adventure full of horror and mystery. This group consists of four people: Issac, Javi, Marcus, and Jenny. They take her to the town of Bliss, insisting that she must do an interview, and get ready to reunite with the old cast that is actually the five of them...

'Middletide' Delivers a Fresh Take on the Murder Mystery Story

Image
Credit to  Amazon.com: Middletide: A Novel eBook : Crouch, Sarah: Books This novel was recommended to me by an employee at Barnes & Noble. She had noticed me going through the thriller section, and she recommended a book called Middletide , and she was really passionate while she was summarizing the plot for me.  After her reaction and her happy manner, I decided to give this book a shot. That reaction to the book was enough to convince me to buy it, and I can see why this thriller novel was received so well by critics and readers.  Middletide follows the story of a man named Elijah Leith, who is accused of murder. The woman who was killed was Erin Landry, who had lost so much in her life. Her daughter died in a car accident, and her husband left her while being consumed by grief.  Why was Elijah accused of her murder? Well…it’s pretty crazy.  Elijah was a writer who failed to make it in the book business. He wrote a novel called Middletide , th...

5 Horror Novels Where No One Survives

Image
Credit to  10 Classic Horror Books That Are Just As Disturbing Today I want to start sharing lists of books that every horror fan would love to read. I do write book reviews from time to time, but I don’t really focus on lists of horror novels for fans to check out! I’m considering starting a YouTube channel, that only goes over horror novels. I think it would be a good idea to convince horror fans to check out some of these books, so I shall see when that will happen lol.  Here are five horror books that any horror fan would love: 5. The Ruins by Scott Smith This novel is pretty horrific when it comes to the slow burn of watching a whole group meet their end at the hands of plant monsters. Yes, I’m not playing, there are plant monsters in this book.  A group of tourists decide to embark on a journey of checking out a place covered in plants, not knowing that these things eat human flesh. The group is forced by the village to be consumed by this flesh-eating c...

I Bought 4 Horror Books

Image
Credit to   Red And Blue Books · Free Stock Photo I should probably stop buying horror books, but like my family says:  “They will always support people who read.” So, I guess it is good to follow that motto lol.  I recently bought four more horror books from Barnes & Noble on Easter weekend.  1. Middletide by Sarah Crouch Alright, this book isn’t technically a horror novel, but it was part of a 50% deal with buying two books, so I said screw it. A young woman who worked at Barnes & Noble told me I would love this book, so I decided to give it a shot.  She was pretty passionate about the story, so how could I say no? She was pretty good at advertising this book for me! 2. Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris Again, not technically horror, but the premise definitely sounds like a horror novel. The story caught my attention when a YouTuber I love talked about the book. I had been waiting so long for some sort of discount, and I finally f...

How Many Times Should I Post Horror Stories on YouTube a Day?

Image
Credit to  YouTube Launches TikTok Competitor ‘Shorts’ in the U.S. I am currently posting on YouTube and TikTok again, after finding out that YouTube shorts are finally getting monetized on the algorithm. It never counted for my horror content before, and now I’m determined to see if I can reach my goal of getting my horror stories monetized.  The only thing I’m having trouble deciding is how many times to post on YouTube with my shorts. I decided to give it a shot on Sunday, posting about two mini horror stories. I posted one around 2ish in the afternoon, and I posted again around 9 p.m. The one around 2 p.m. received about 232 views in total so far. The horror story is about a couple who moves out of their home after they receive a scary picture in the mailbox from their stalker.  And yes, the story is fake, I would never post real stuff lol.  My other short video received about 15 views so far. The horror story is about a dog who discovers pile of huma...

No, I'm Not a Human is an Analog Horror Videogame with a Lot of Potential

Image
Credit to  No, i’m not a human… - YouTube I recently found a trailer that caught my interest as I was navigating through YouTube. I was surprised to see a trailer for a new game that resembled the look of analog horror. I decided to play the video, and I was intrigued by the visuals, and the mysterious story about a random protagonist who finds themselves dealing with an unknown threat that attempts to take on human forms.  The player will have to figure out who is human or not, in order to survive whatever sort of creatures are currently invading the world. I was thrilled to hear pretty excellent voice acting sprinkled throughout the game. I felt chills when a random dude called 911, to let the operator know that people were burning in the street.  That was the beginning line of the trailer, and I knew at that moment I wanted to buy this game. It will be arriving sometime in April of this year, on PS5.  There is so much potential with this game, and I can't w...

'The Boy' Was Saved By its Unexpected Twist Ending

Image
Credit to The Boy — Plugged In I have my fair share of horror movies that haven’t really stayed in my brain for a long time. I have seen plenty of slashers, body horror, supernatural, and monster like films that I have forgotten about pretty quickly.  And I’m not saying that any of these movies were super bad, I just forgot about them, I guess.  One of the few movies that I saw in 2016 has made me strongly believe I would have forgotten about the film…if it hadn’t been for that INSANE ending.  I’m not sure if many of you horror fans have seen The Boy that was released in 2016? The story that follows a woman named Greta who is asked to babysit a doll that is possibly possessed by a dead child named Brahms? Credit to Review: ‘The Boy,’ in Which a Doll May be Alive, or the Heroine May Be Mad — The New York Times I gotta be honest. The movie was sort of generic when it came to the scares and the buildup, but I did appreciate the bond that Greta was forming with t...

Final Girls is a Horror Slasher Masterpiece

Image
Credit to  Amazon.com: Final Girls: A Novel: 9781101985380: Sager, Riley: Books I had been hunting down this book for a long time. I felt so dumb when I realized that it had been written by an author I already knew, and I couldn’t believe that this book was right under my nose the whole time when I went to Barnes & Noble on Saturday! I heard so many great things about  Final Girls  by Riley Sager, and once I began reading this book, I became addicted to finish the book. We follow the story of a woman named Quincy Carpenter, who is considered to be a Final Girl. She was the only survivor from a serial killer who murdered all of her friends at Pine Cottage, when she was still in high school. However, Quincy isn’t the only Final Girl that received this title. Two other girls named Samantha Boyd and Lisa Milner also survived brutal attacks and were deemed to be the only survivors. Much to the annoyance of Quincy, all three of them became famous for their horrible o...
