MaXXXine is a Wonderful Horror Conclusion to the “X” Trilogy

Maxine is now in the decade of the ’80s, finally gaining the opportunity to star in a horror movie.

Things are looking up for her. After what she went through in the past, she deserved to finally gain the spotlight she has been searching for!

Unfortunately, Maxine finds herself being hunted down once again by evil, as a mysterious man, dressed in all-black, murders people that Maxine knows or cares about.

Maxine desperately tries to avoid this confrontation, as she desires to become a movie star, and no longer cares to put herself in a horrible situation, due to her trauma from what she went through in X.

No matter how much she tries to avoid running into this new killer, she is pulled into this cycle of evil, when she stumbles across a familiar face she never thought would ever hunt her down.

The twist of the villain was really shocking, I loved how this reminded me of an 80s slasher where the killer reveal is always the most insane part!

The killer is someone that she once cared about.

I don’t really want to give this part away, since this twist is actually pretty shocking in the movie. Maxine obviously freaks the hell out, and attempts to escape from this person, but gets knocked out by the killer.

She wakes up and realizes that she is now being held hostage by this monster, along with a cult that shares the killer’s beliefs.

What happens next was such a great finale. A battle royale begins between two detectives, Maxine, and the cult. All three parties get into a bloody fight, determined to survive the night.

Maxine decides that in order to fully be safe for the rest of her life, she must go after the killer herself. I loved this part of the film, because I didn’t know what the hell was going to happen.

Maxine is pretty crazy and is willing to do anything to survive any confrontation. Watching her make her final decision was so satisfying, and wow, was it a great gore fest!

Maxine gets her happy ending, finally being able to live the life she always wanted. After one month of the bloody battle, she is now filming the horror movie that she is the main star in.

She appears quite content with her life, proudly watching the crew mold a fake decapitated head of her character for the horror movie. For me, this ending was perfect.

The 80s aesthetic was incredible, and I had a lot of fun with the 80s soundtrack. Watching Maxine embark on a new horror journey to take down the new evil was great to watch.

Mia Goth truly did an amazing job playing this iconic character! I will truly miss her as Maxine!
