I Stopped Watching a Horror Movie for the First Time in Years

I recently started watching this 80s horror slasher that caught my attention. ICED is a pretty original and kind of cool name for a horror flick, and damn, I actually stopped watching the film about 25 to 30 minutes in.
Judging by the cover, I was expecting an interesting and cheesy flick about a slasher killer, but instead, I was met with boredom, and I was a bit irritated with the quality of the film. I know that every horror film is different, they are going to use a different way to film their movies, and I understand that sometimes they can’t afford certain camera for the movie.
I’ve seen plenty of films with terrible camerawork, that had a compelling story that caught my attention, and I was able to overlook the quality of the movie. For this one however…it was the complete opposite.
I kept predicting everything that was going to happen, the acting was terrible, and even though a lot of horror films featured 30-year-olds playing high school schoolers or college students, this one was painfully obvious.

It’s like they didn’t even try on purpose, and I have seen a lot of bad acting in horror movies, but in this one, it was like they showed up to shoot the film, because they really wanted to get filming over with. And again, I have seen plenty of bad acting, but at least those other films were entertaining, and the bad acting ended up giving the film a sort of charm.
For ICED, it was nowhere to be found.
From what I had seen of the film, the story focused on a group of friends who were spending time at a ski resort. I can’t remember anyone’s names for the life of me, but from what I do remember, this is how the killer is born.
One of the guys is throwing a pissy fit over the fact that his skiing sucks compared to a guy that he doesn’t like, since he has a huge interest in his girlfriend. He decides to go out on his own to prove everyone wrong, by going for a ski by himself.
The guy he disliked decides to hit on his girlfriend, and it works, leading to them hooking them later that night. (This part did get to me a little bit. I know that her boyfriend sucked, but shouldn’t she at least dump him before she gets with the other guy)? And by the way, this moment lasted a bit too long, to the point that I got a little uncomfortable.
I understand the film didn’t have a budget, but couldn’t they have skipped over or emitted a lot of this scene completely? I don’t get it.
Then while this scene is taking place, we see her boyfriend at the same time, attempt to do risky skiing on his own. He ends up having an accident, resulting in his death. Then we cut to years later. The guy that he disliked is now married to his girlfriend. The newlywed couple and their group of friends have been invited to a ski resort, and they have no idea why.
In my head, if I had received an invitation like that, I don’t think I would have been stupid into falling for that trick, but whatever.
We see the killer show up, dude is resembling the guy that wanted to prove everyone wrong, so I’m sure it’s the woman’s boyfriend, he kills his first dude, and I stopped watching the film during the most boring scenes I have ever watched.
We see the friends spend time together, but damn, that acting honestly started to really get to me. Once again, I have seen bad acting in scenes like this, but the film was watchable for me. For this film, wow, it was just so bad.
And I wasn’t the only one. A lot of fans complained about the quality of this film, and most of them admitted to giving up on the film. I was hoping to prove everyone wrong and continue watching, but I couldn’t get through it.
What horror movies have you stopped watching? Were you bored? Was the story awful? Or was the acting super bad?
