I'm Struggling with My Halloween Costume This Year

I'm aware that it's too early to already start shopping for Halloween costumes, but since so many Halloween stores are already open, I am starting to feel the pressure of picking out my costume.

And it hasn't been easy.

This is the first year where I have struggled so much with a Halloween costume.

Last year was like love at first sight. Once I saw the 'Art the Clown' costume from Terrifier in Spirit Halloween, I knew that was what I wanted to be in 2024. So why haven't felt that same a park with any of the costumes this year. They have released a lot of cool designs and ideas, but I honestly don't know what I am looking for.

I am stuck between so many ideas.

I was thinking of doing a zombie. Since I am going to be working two jobs at the moment, I can definitely afford to throw on fake blood and make myself look absolutely terrifying and disgusting.

I was thinking of doing a video game character from a horror game. The game is based on Alice in Wonderland, but picture Alice going crazy in her head, having to fight her own friends from Wonderland. I think it would be easy to pull off this costume.

I was thinking of going to a thrift store to search for a dark blue dress that looks horrible, and throwing on a white apron over it to complete the Alice look. She also has black hair in this version, so I think I would have to spend money on a good wig, a prop weapon, and some fake blood.

I'm also considering Lydia from Beetlejuice. Or Emily from the Corpse Bride. I haven't done anything cool with bride outfits in horror, and I think I would have a lot of fun dressing up in a dress. It's beyond rare for me to wear dresses, but on Halloween, I would definitely be willing to do it!

I thought I would have found my calling this past weekend, when I went into a new Halloween store I had never heard of in my life. It's called Bernie's House of Fun, a Halloween store that is located in Texas.

This is one of the best Halloween stores you will ever walk into. They have everything you can think of, including horror items that you would never find in a Halloween store. They have costumes you will never find, masks from all kinds of horror media, accessories based on horror movies fans will love, and animatronics that are some of the best I have seen!

I was impressed with the costume selection they had, but sadly, I did not find the costume I was hoping for. They were all fantastic, but I didn't feel that spark I was desperately searching for.

At least I got to purchase awesome horror accessories that I wasn't expecting to find!

I got a wallet that was based on the Tim Burton Sleepy Hollow film.

I got a magnet of Art the Clown from Terrifier.

I saw an action figure of David from The Lost Boys, but there was no way in hell I was spending my whole paycheck on a figure that costs $350. Yeah, I'm not exaggerating. Dude was expensive.

I found a really cool poster of Art the Clown, but the poster and frame was $60. I'm a huge fan of this character, but no way I'm paying that much for a poster!

They had an awesome bucket hat of Chucky, but I had already bought the wallet, and it was the same price like the hat!

Sorry for getting off track here lol.

The costume store was pretty neat.

I hope I find my costume this Halloween.

Eventually.

Hopefully.
