The Incredibles is Pixar's Darkest Film
The Incredibles is one of Pixar's best animations of all time. This film was made for both audiences, for kids to enjoy the family superhero action, while the adults are introduced to disturbing moments during the film.
It's been a long time since I have seen this film, but after doing some research on every dark moment in this film, I can't believe Pixar had the balls to write something this dark.
The dark themes in this film are next level messed up:
- Mr. Incredible saves a man from ending his life.
- There are multiple superhero murders.
- The main villain of the film attempted to murder an entire family.
- There was an attempted murder on Mr. Incredible's life.
- The government straight up bands superheroes from the world, after considering them to be a danger to society.
I can't get over how insane this film was...and if you think that's bad enough, get ready for the dark lore behind this film.
A special DVD collection to The Incredibles features the secret audio files of all the superheroes.
The collector's edition to this film features disc one, which plays the film, and disc two, that contains the secret audio files of all of the superheroes. The image above shows the black and white images of the heroes who were all killed, and only the main three characters were the only ones left.
They were either killed by the main villain, Syndrome, or experienced an unfortunate accident when it came to wearing capes. The capes were later removed by the woman who designed their costumes, once she realized how dangerous it was to actually wear a cape.
What's ironic is that Syndrome's cape is the cause of his death toward the end of the movie, so I guess it was a major foreshadow.
After watching a YouTube video that goes over every single file of the superheroes, I was left vastly interested and terrified over the kind of superheroes that used to be alive before they were killed.
Honestly...I think Syndrome made the right move killing some of these bastards off. Like seriously, some of these dudes were secretly monsters.
Gamma Jack was the worst one out of all the superheroes.
Gamma Jack was considered to be a threat by the government, which was insane to think about. It all had to do with his beliefs, and his crazy mindset.
- He only saved the pretty women, and the 'ugly ones' were the last ones he saved.
- He was a bit of a racist, believing that heroes were the superior ones compared to humans.
- He talked about killing nonchalantly when it came to the villains. But if they were hot women, it was harder for him to kill them.
Gamma Jack has started this crazy trend as of recent, bringing a massive wave of attention back to The Incredibles. Many fans of the film have been in shock with his character. Dude had the potential to be a villain, and damn, I'm glad Syndrome killed his ass. What's crazy is that fans believe that he made fun of Syndrome, laughing manically before he was killed.
Now that is terrifying. And kind of savage.
Psycwave 100% deserved to die.
She was another superhero that was secretly a piece of shit. She straight out admitted to using her mind control to force men to break up with their girlfriends, so that she could date them.
Isn't that terrifying???
This woman was pure evil, and damn, I think Syndrome did the world a favor by killing this psycho off.
Hypershock was the only superhero that got drunk on the job.
Imagine being saved by a superhero, only to be left absolutely terrified, because of how drunk he is? It also didn't help that he had a horrible temper, and during his audio file, he starts yelling at the staff during his interview. That audio file felt extremely real, and it honestly scared me a little bit. The thought of a drunk man coming to save you, with super powers, is freaking scary.
What if he accidentally killed someone or injured several people he had saved throughout the years? Maybe this dude also had his death coming.
Here are other superheroes that didn't deserve to die, but damn, you will feel so sorry for them.
Gazerbeam - appeared to be a good friend of Mr. Incredible. He didn't seem to be good with socializing; he sounded like an introvert that was a pretty chill guy. He is the reason why Mr. Incredible got to live from his situation against Syndrome. Gazerbeam deserved to be considered a hero. He was a fighter until the very end, and man, his death is so tragic.
Thunderhead - He was one of the unfortunate accidents that died due to wearing a cape. He genuinely seemed like such a sweetheart. He had adopted five children, and lived with his roommate, Scott. I think it's heavily implied that Scott was his boyfriend, so he had to think of a cover to hide his homosexuality. So damn tragic knowing that he left behind his family after he died.
Macroburst - This superhero was one of the few to never be given an audio file. I found it so creepy knowing that Syndrome killed Macroburst, and we never got to know this superhero's true identity. Macroburst was listed as either him or her, since the identity of the hero remained unknown. My theory is that Macroburst was a pretty private person, and honestly, I would have done the same if I was a superhero.
Universal Man - Man, this was by far the saddest superhero. Universal Man wanted to only be known as his superhero identity, and never bothered to embrace his real self. He voiced out how pissed off he was with interacting in the real world, because people wanted to know his real identity. He would say that why can't people just accept him as Universal Man, and just leave it at that?
It was also pretty shocking to learn that he was killed by Syndrome too, since this dude was pretty damn strong. But there have been dark theories that fans think that he ended his own life. He let the Syndrome kill him, so that he can escape from his reality. How sad is that???
I highly suggest you check out the audio files of these superheroes. You will freak out and love The Incredibles even more after listening to them!
Man...how I would love a prequel to these superheroes!
