I had constantly been told by my family members that The Entity is one of the best horror films, and that I would love this film. It's one of those obscure horror movies that is pretty hard to find through streaming services or even to be able to purchase online.

I was surprised to learn that my family owned the film, and I watched it for the first time last night. I did hear that this film was based on a true story, and I was in shock that I remembered learning about this disturbing story.

A woman with children claimed she had been attacked by an invisible force in her home, and no one believed her. People eventually did, and it was deemed to be one of the shocking paranormal cases in history. I remember watching an X - Files that did their own episode on this real story too, and it was tough for me to sit through.

The Entity is one of those films that will break you.

I was so angry as I was watching this movie from beginning to end. Watching this poor woman named Carla endure such brutal horror was difficult to watch, and the fact that her own children witness one of her attacks was so tragic.

She starts to see a doctor who seeks to help her, but he refuses to believe her story of a mystery invisible being terrorizing her. She is desperate for someone to believe her, and it finally comes, when her best friend lets Carla stay over at her place. Carla finds herself caught in the throes of the entity unleashing his anger on her friend's home, destroying everything.

It came off like a mocking thing, almost like the entity wanted to let her know that wherever she goes, it will always find her. Her best friend comes home when she hears something going on in her home, and she witnesses a part of her home get destroyed in her front of her own eyes. She comforts Carla, who is crying and smiling, relieved that someone finally believes her.

This part broke me. Watching her cry and hugging her friend made me feel so bad for her. I couldn't imagine that relief that someone finally knows that she wasn't crazy.

Paranormal investigators decide to aid Carla later on in the film, when they learn that something is in her home. They offer to trap the entity for her after witnessing this thing for the first time, but the doctor she had been seeing doesn't want Carla to put herself in danger.

She doesn't hesitate to give in to this idea, and she battles the entity, almost dying in the process.

The paranormal team had built a replica of her own home, and they attached a machine that would trap and freeze the entity, in order to put this monster down for good. She complies with this idea, and the entity ends up controlling the machine, almost freezing her to death. The doctor barges into the experiment to save her life, and the entity is frozen.

It unfortunately breaks out of the trap, and the doctor, including many members of the team, witness this insane phenomena. Carla goes back home, finding it now empty, since her belongings were taken to be used for the experiment. The door to her home slams shut, and a demonic voice speaks to her, as if daring her to leave her home.

Carla, now no longer afraid, leaves her home, and finds that her children are waiting for her. She leaves with her best friend and her kids, and the movie ends with a true account of what the real Carla went through.

I can't imagine that kind of fear. Knowing that you can't see the monster in your own home...that is absolutely frightening.
