I have been a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch’s work for years. I have watched so much of his movies and TV shows, his acting is freaking phenomenal. My personal favorite would have to be his depiction of a modern Sherlock Holmes, and he was the perfect actor for this specific role. How he was able to play a character struggling to be a human was amazing.

And now, he is about to start in his first horror movie.

The Thing with Feathers is about a grieving father, who is struggling to raise his two sons after the death of his wife. We see him begin to spiral into madness, as he becomes haunted by an unknown entity, a crow monster that is the size of a human, that intends to ruin his life.

The movie has been compared to The Babadook online, but we are now following from the perspective of a father this time around. Even though I have been hearing some mixed reviews from the movie, I’m still excited for it. I know that Cumberbatch is going to knock it out of the park, and I’m so curious to watch his performance in his first horror movie.

From the trailer alone, the movie looks intense as hell. I think this movie is going to be something else, and I got to be honest, that crow thing is freaking scary. The voice of that thing sounds so eerie, and I can’t wait to see their interactions throughout the film.

I’m curious if this movie is going to imply that the crow monster is real, kind of like how The Babadook did, even though the monster did represent the struggles of grief. The crow monster also does look pretty practical too, which is already so impressive for the movie.

I have already been hearing mixed reviews on the film, but I don’t care. Cumberbatch is such a great actor, I have seen some movies of his that also received mixed reviews, and I still enjoyed them, due to his performance.

He has already played a grieving father in two different roles, and he knocked it out of the park with those too.

He technically did star in a horror movie in the Sherlock television show, called The Hounds of Baskerville. He did a fantastic job in that episode, freaking out over the possibility of an actual monster dog on the loose in the woods. It was the first time that he ever lost his composure, and he struggled to contemplate the idea of the supernatural possibly being real.

I’m beyond excited to see this movie, as you can see.

Are you looking forward to watching this movie?
