Silent Night Deadly Night Has a Remake Coming Out in December 2025???
This is by far one of the most shocking announcements I have heard about this year.
And guess what?
The movie is literally coming out already next Friday in theaters!
That's right, we are getting the remake of Silent Night Deadly Night in theaters!
I haven't seen the trailer yet, but it looks like one of those guilty pleasure movies that is going to feature bad actors, with great practical effects. I'm totally cool with that, because it appears that the same crew that helped make Terrifier 2 and 3 was behind the production of the remake.
I couldn't believe that I recognized the actor playing the new Billy Chapman. I had recently started watching the television show, Supernatural, since it's going to be taken off of Netflix on December 17th.
(I had stopped watching the show for a while, because I heard that a lot of fans weren't happy about the finale, so it kind of killed the excitement of the show a bit for me, but I told myself that I'm going to finish the show this time, despite the mixed reviews on the finale).
Anyway, the actor playing Billy had a pretty short role in one of the Supernatural episodes in season 14. While the Winchester brothers are battling an evil bastard that wants to destroy the world and possess one of the brothers to use as his vessel, this bastard decides to come up with an insane plan to defeat the siblings.
He creates an army of monsters filled with his power, and he has them drink from bottles to become even more powerful. One of the monsters was a werewolf, played by the actor that is going to be Billy in the Christmas remake. Even though his role was so short, I really enjoyed his character for the small screen time we had of him.
He played the perfect dumbass jock among the villain group, and he really made the role work for him. It's so cool to see a familiar face playing the role of Billy, and I can't wait to see what kind of 'Billy' we are going to get.
If they go for the awful comedic route like the Silent Night Deadly Night sequel did, I'm fine with that. For those who haven't seen the movie, it has now become infamous for its hilarious scenes and terrible acting by the main star of the film. Or maybe they did a mix of the first two films, which is kind of scary and funny at the same time?
Whatever we are going to get, I'm looking forward to watching the film.
I'm honestly so surprised that the movie was praised by critics, because Rotten Tomatoes has become a mixed bag for me over the years. I suppose they got a crowd of people who appreciate horror, because it looks like the remake did something good?
I'm really hoping for an absolute gore fest.
The first film had some pretty insane kills, like that one where Billy decided to impale some random girl on the antlers of a deer's head used for decoration in the cabin. And again, the Terrifier crew is behind the making of this movie, so maybe we are going to get excellent gore.
I'm happy to see that the killer Santa Claus is going to have his trusty axe, and I have a feeling we are going to get extremely violent kills. I'm also so curious to know how they are going to tackle Billy's trauma, because that backstory is so disturbing in the original.
How do you guys feel about the up and coming remake this December?
