The Mummy 4 Has Now Been Confirmed!
I'm pleased to announce that we are finally going to have a continuation into the franchise of The Mummy. I think this has been long overdue, and I'm sure that a lot of horror fans like me really did miss this amazing franchise. It is one of the few horror films where the mummy is seen as an actual threat. Instead of the same old slow shuffling mummies, we get scary as hell mummies that are deadly and tough to defeat.
While the first two films are awesome when it comes to great stories and the insane settings that take place in the films, everyone really praised the chemistry among the main cast.
There was something special about everyone involved in The Mummy movies, they all connected so well, and they were beyond entertaining to watch on the screen. It was your typical group of people in a horror movie, and damn, they really shined in each of their roles.
- Our main character named Rick O' Connell was our badass hero that never expected to become one.
- Evelyn O' Connel that becomes the future wife of Rick was our beautiful nerd who embraced being a librarian.
- Jonathan Carnahan was our lovable and hilarious sidekick of the group.
- Ardeth Bay was another badass warrior that never gave up in any fight.
And of course, we have our main villain, Imhotep, who was quite the mighty threat.
From the rumors I have heard, it sounds like the original four are making a return, plus, we will most likely get a grown-up version of Rick and Evelyn's son, so I'm curious to see what kind of storyline they are going to conjure up next. Fans online are actually calling The Mummy 4 part 3 instead, because let's face it, part 3 was the worst film in the franchise, and we also never got our version of Evelyn back in the third one.
The script must be quite good, if everyone agreed to come back this time!
Even though Imhotep is probably most likely dead, I wouldn't mind one bit if he made a return in the fourth film. His chemistry among the main heroes was also so damn great, and his presence was pretty scary. He scared the crap out of me when I was a child, and I couldn't stand seeing him without his skin. Dude was a menace, and he only cared about achieving great power.
I think they can pull off Imhotep's return off, since he was dragged to Hell in the second film. I'm sure he will be greatly pissed off, knowing that the love of his life abandoned him before she was eaten by bugs, so I wouldn't doubt that this time around, he will return with a vengeance.
Even though I'm excited for the film, I have a feeling that a lot of people could possibly die in the fourth one. And if it does turn out to be the final film, it's totally alright with me. The first two films have always remained cult classics for years, so the entertainment of these two films will never fade away.
I believe that the new entry could be releasing sometime in 2028. The new film is rumored to already be in development, so that is freaking exciting to hear! Plus, and this was awesome to find out as well, the same dudes who directed Ready or Not, are working on the fourth film. The original director, Stephen Sommers, is working alongside the crew.
While we are going to have a long wait for the film, at least we got the remake to The Mummy coming out in April of 2026 next year!
How do you horror fans out there feel about this announcement?
