Resident Evil Requiem Looks Like a Promising Horror Entry for the Franchise

I have watched a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, and it looks like it's going to be another worthy entry for the franchise. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard introduced an actual scary game, while Resident Evil: Village did a mostly action-packed game with old school references. 

Resident Evil Requiem appears to be a combination of both games, introducing two different points of view for the story. Leon is going to be the combat heavy point of view, while our new character, Grace, is going to be the survival horror aspect. I love how realistic the character of Grace feels. Putting a brand-new character that has no experience in the world of Resident Evil is a genius move, because we will be feeling the fear of the horror we are already familiar with. 

It's also so cool that Grace has absolutely no experience with guns, like in one part with Leon during the demo, when he hands over a gun for her to use in combat. We see Grace speak constantly, freaking out over her situation, including her obvious inexperience with guns, whenever she would shake her hand from the recoil whenever she used the weapon on zombies. 

The zombies are freaking scary as hell this time around, with several of them acting almost human, like they are trapped in their dead state. This is a great addition to the game, really adding to the point of view of playing Grace, who is going to give players a terrifying environment in the world of Resident Evil. 

Leon will be considered our 'safe place,' since he is familiar with fighting against the dead. We see him fight one huge boss zombie in the demo too, and watching an older Leon fight the dead still feels so badass. I'm curious to see how his relationship will develop with Grace, and I think he will be helping her throughout the game, determined to ensure her safety. 

I'm still pretty lost on how the threat is going to be done in this game, but I like the mystery of the developers refusing to show us the real villain in the next entry. I'm sure that we fans are going to be entertained by the story and the motivations of whoever is behind this other outbreak, as we watch a fan favorite and new character battle against the dead. 

I'm excited to play this game, and I can't wait to see where Leon's journey will take us fans next!
