The Tommyknockers is Stephen King's Worst Book

I'm a huge Stephen King fan, that has read so many of his books. I'm currently reading a new favorite, called Insomnia, that tackles all kinds of horrors, and it is blended together so well. When it comes to one particular novel called The Tommyknockers, I can't exactly say that this book works for me.

The Tommyknockers follows the story of a town, that is invaded by aliens. The people all start to undergo their own transformations, either into madness or turning into monsters.

While this concept sounds incredible, there is one reason why this book was ruined for me.

We follow way too many point of views in this book.

The book focuses on way too many characters to follow, and it was so annoying to keep up with everyone in the book. In my opinion, it would have been interesting to follow the point of view of one character, that does not experience this sort of horror like transformation like everyone in the town.

The book Insomnia does this kind of point of view, with one person witnessing all the horror taking place in his town called Derry, while he is going through his own madness. I feel that The Tommyknockers should have focused on the same narration form like Insomnia, and I think it would have worked for me as a reader.

The Tommyknockers had a great concept, that was ruined by its multiple point of views.
