Donna from Twin Peaks Has Become the Most Annoying Character on the Show

I loved Donna in the first season, but her character in season 2 is now becoming so irritating to watch. I don't mind her insistence on wanting to know who killed Laura, because Laura was her best friend after all, but the stupid love triangle she is involved in is ruining her character for me.

James and Donna were so cute in the first season, and once Madeline, Laura's cousin who looks just like was introduced to the show, I feel that Donna has lost her mind. I get why she is jealous, but the way she is trying to show off her dominance to James has been getting to me during season 2. She has been noticing the closeness between James and Madeline, and it's obvious that James was going to fall for Madeline, since he literally used to date Laura before her death.

Donna is aware of this, and I assumed her character would eventually accept this and move on, but the way she is acting is so annoying. For example, one scene that really bothered me, was when she heard about James going to jail, when he discovered that Bobby planted something on him to get arrested. Donna went to visit James, and she was acting way too different, and I'm so glad that James acknowledged this change to Madeline later on. Donna showed up wearing sunglasses that Laura once wore, and she was also smoking. She wanted to show off her dominance to James, to make herself seem like an irresistible woman that James couldn't refuse.

James honestly looked annoyed with her in this scene, and he didn't seem to like the change when he was telling Madeline about this odd interaction he had with Donna.

I think she acted this way, because she is noticing the connection between Madeline and James. I get why she is angry with James wanting to be with Madeline, but shouldn't Donna just focus on solving her friend's murder than get herself involved in yet another love triangle???

I hope this love triangle ends soon, because I'm really getting fed up with her behavior towards James and Madeline. I get that love makes you stupid, but if you know that your boyfriend is into someone else, just move on, man.

It's a shame that I'm getting fed up with her character in season 2, because the only moments I am actually enjoying right now, is seeing her interactions with Harold Smith.

This is when I actually enjoy watching Donna's character in season 2. Her investigation into Laura's murder is so interesting to watch, and she is willing to go any length to figure out what happened to her friend. I've only seen a couple of episodes of Harold and Donna's interactions, and I'm curious how she is going to trick Harold into giving up Laura's secret diary. I suspect that this dude is going to be dangerous, because why he doesn't feel the need to give up obvious evidence to the police is super weird and suspicious.

Donna acting like a wannabe detective is when her character is so entertaining to watch, and I'm excited to see what is going to happen with her investigation into Harold. Something seems so off with this guy, and I suspect he is hiding something sinister beneath his charm.

For those who watched Twin Peaks, what did you personally think of Donna's character? Did you think the love triangle was necessary for the plot of Twin Peaks? Or did you also get fed up with the love triangle like I did?
