The Mandela Catalogue Continues to be a Terrifying Analog Horror Series

I never thought the Mandela Catalogue would become one of my favorite analog horror series. I have to thank this series for introducing me to this kind of horror, and Mandela Catalogue continues to blow me away with the horror and the world building behind this interesting story.
Entities known as the alternates, were created by an angel known as Gabriel, that also had its own alternate. It was able to trick people for many years, in order to make sure an alternate child would be born, known as Adam.
Now years later, in a small town called Mandela County, the alternates are slowly taking over. They have gotten so many people killed, and they also take on the forms of their own victims, to blend into society.
Several characters have been able to avoid their fates, such as one character known as Thatcher, a police officer who has somehow been able to maintain his humanity against these creatures. He lost a colleague named Ruth, and is determined to survive.
In the recent episode that was released for the series, we finally get another insight into what is going on with both Thatcher and Adam’s characters.
While Thatcher appears to be alright from his alternate encounters, poor Adam is the complete opposite. Thatcher is interviewing Adam in the police station, trying to give him some sort of hope about how to defeat the alternates, but Adam, who just found out that he was an alternate the whole time, has lost his mind.
Adam escapes from the police station, running away from Thatcher, who tries to stop him. Adam embraces his alternate self, ripping off his own skin to become a monster.
Meanwhile, his three friends are concerned about his whereabouts. Julie, Noah, and Amanda. Julie attempts to warn her friends about Mandela County, but once Adam comes into contact with Noah, he begs Amanda to go with him back to Mandela County to look for him. Julie doesn’t go with them, (she is one of the smartest characters in the series), and the duo arrives to Mandela County, to a random house where Adam is supposedly staying.
Noah and Amanda search for him inside of the house, and Julie calls Amanda, telling her they need to get the hell out of there. Amanda decides to comply with Julie’s warning, and the two of them get into an argument over Julie’s warning. Amanda leaves Noah in the house, and he ends up encountering Adam, who is now an alternate.
I’m not sure if Noah and Amanda are able to escape at the end of the episode, because Noah’s camera cuts off as Adam is chasing him back to the car.
I was so upset about Adam’s fate. Throughout the series, we started to learn about what he actually was, and the alternates, including Gabriel, were messing with him constantly, determined for him to embrace his true nature.
The effects of Adam ripping himself apart was top notch animation, Alex Kister, the creator of the Mandela Catalogue, is truly one of the best horror content creators on YouTube.
Kane Pixel, the creator of another analog horror series, called The Backrooms, has recently announced that his horror movie based on his creation is coming out in theaters this year!
I would love a theatrical release of the Mandela Catalogue one day; there is so many potential opportunities here to make this series a reality! The concept of doppelganger monsters slowly taking over the world is awesome and terrifying; I would love to see this story turn into a movie!
I can’t wait for the next episode of Mandela Catalogue! Alex Kister is truly a horror genius, and he is definitely going places with his craft!
