Andy Brennan Became a Badass Character in Twin Peaks: The Return

 


Andy Brennan was another character in the final season of Twin Peaks that caught me off guard. Andy went from a shy and lovable goofball in the old seasons to a courageous man that was willing to face any type of danger in Twin Peaks. After the finale in season 2, this change for Andy made perfect sense. Before the ending of season 2, during a beauty pageant, Twin Peaks was attacked by a serial killer, leaving everyone in pure chaos. Lucy was terrified after the event, and Andy told his future wife that he would have been by her side no matter what, proving that Andy was more than a goofball. 

There was a warrior hidden within Andy, and I wonder if his marriage to Lucy was the reason why he became a changed man. 

In Twin Peaks: The Return, we are still following the Andy that we know and love, but this time around, he is willing to face the danger head on. He learns from Bobby Briggs about the two Coopers, including the evil doppelganger. The police department go on a journey to face this new evil, and stumble across a woman with no eyes in the woods, who was from the Black Lodge. The men then witness a hole appearing in the sky, and this turns out to be a portal to the Red Room. The Giant chooses to speak with Andy, and decides to show Andy visions of what is to come for Twin Peaks, once Cooper's doppelganger arrives to the police station. Andy shows no fear, as he learns everything that is going to be taking place. 

He takes everything with a calm demeanor, and when he returns back to his crew of officers, he doesn't hesitate to take charge of the situation. He tells them what must be done, and then he carries the woman to the station, where both Lucy and Andy help to look after her. He was the reason why so many people were saved, before Cooper's doppelganger could hurt anyone. He used his visions to protect his friends  and family, and this was the moment where I truly realized that Andy was a total badass. 

Even Cooper had mentioned to Andy in the older seasons that Andy was a good person, and I guess Andy never forgot his words, and took his words to heart. 

Andy Brennan was one of the biggest heroes of Twin Peaks, and it was one of the best character changes for Twin Peaks: The Return!

Pearl is a Wicked and Horrific Start to a Memorable Horror Trilogy

Mia Goth pulls off such a likable character with terrifying tendencies of murder and mayhem. Pearl  is actually a prequel to one of my favorite horror films,  X , and is the middle chapter in a trilogy. This trilogy was directed by Ti West, and it featured Mia Goth playing two different characters, as both the antagonist and the protagonist in this trilogy. The prequel starts off Mia as the villain, Pearl. Unlike the protagonist, Maxine, that has her dreams come true, Pearl isn’t exactly given the same happy ending. If it hadn’t been for her killer self, maybe she would have had a chance in the ‘star world.’ Instead, we are given a total downfall of Pearl embracing her monstrous side, killing anyone that stands in her way. “The Painter” is the Most Controversial Analog Horror Ever Created

This creator is known for a fictional crime spree of two serial killers; depicting very unsettling and horrendous violent acts against their victims. The story does have its fair share of fans, but only very few can handle this type of heavy content. What makes this specific analog horror so terrifying, is that this type of horror can happen in real life. Serial killers have existed for decades, an unfortunate and sad fact that these monsters hiding beneath human skin walk among us.
