Ed and Norma Were Another Couple that Got Their Happy Ending

The storyline of Ed and Norma has always been a crazy rollercoaster.

It was obvious they were in love with each other, but there were so many obstacles that kept them apart.

Ed was married to Nadine, and Norma was dealing with her husband who had gone to prison.

Norma's problem was solved when her husband was sent to prison again for his new crimes in Twin Peaks, after Nadine beat the crap out of him for trying to hurt Ed. The main issue was the marriage between Ed and Nadine. I felt that it was hard for Ed to leave Nadine, because she was a very good person who happened to gain super strength from out of nowhere.

They eventually got to be together when Nadine hit her head, and she ended up believing she was still in high school. She got with a random kid named Mike, that became a little bit of a problematic relationship during season 2. Ed and Norma were going to get married, but things didn't work out for them, when Nadine ended up regaining back her memories in the finale of season 2.

Now in the final season, Ed and Norma are both doing the same thing with their lives. Norma is running the diner, now turning it into a franchise. Ed was still running the same business with cars, while married to Nadine. On her own, Nadine decides to leave Ed, telling him to go be with Norma. She admits that she only stayed with him to get back at Norma, but in reality, she was keeping Ed from being happy. She lets him go, and Ed is shocked over this outcome, and immediately goes back to confess his love to Norma.

Norma and Ed reaffirm their love, and the two of them get married, ending their story.

This relationship was always so interesting to me, because they were both such good people, and they were two of the most human characters in this show. It did get slightly annoying how their relationship turned into a soap opera later in season 2, but at least their characters were entertaining to a point.

I was glad to see Ed and Norma get their happy ending, because man, not everyone was so lucky.
