The Biggest Tragedy of Twin Peaks was Audrey and Cooper Never Reuniting
Dale Cooper and Audrey had formed a very strong bond in the old seasons of Twin Peaks. Audrey had revealed her obvious crush on Cooper, but he remained only friends with her, since Audrey was still in high school, and Cooper was not that kind of man. Despite this rejection, Audrey always remained close with him, and their bond only grew stronger.
Dale Cooper really cared about Audrey over the course of the old seasons, and he even rescued her from a dangerous situation, after she was kidnapped by a killer in season 2. Then they weren't really getting that many scenes together during the second half of season 2.
There was an alleged rumor that Audrey and Cooper were actually supposed to have more scenes together, but at the time, the actor who played Dale Cooper was dating one of his co - stars from Twin Peaks, who turned out to be super jealous of his screentime with the actress who played Audrey.
I hope this wasn't true, but if this was the case, it's a shame that David Lynch wasn't able to tell the story he wanted to tell with both characters. I did not ship them at all, due to Audrey's noticeable age difference to Cooper, but their friendship was so awesome.
It was a major highlight from the old seasons, and it sucks how Cooper wasn't able to reunite with Audrey one last time in the final season. I think he would have loved to have seen her again, but since they most likely both suffered from the same fate at the end of Twin Peaks, it was never going to happen.
It's crazy how two characters who were quite close in the old seasons both never reunited, and had both suffered the same messed up fates.
Man, that is so brutal for both of these fan favorite characters.
But in the world of Twin Peaks, not everyone gets a happy ending.
