What is the White Lodge in Twin Peaks?

The White Lodge is the only supernatural realm that is never shown throughout the entire series. We only get snippets from Deputy Hawk, and Major Briggs, about the existence of the White Lodge. These two characters really appeared to know how the White Lodge worked, and only Major Briggs was the only one who was able to come into contact with this realm out of all the characters.

I believe that Major Briggs was the only one who was able to reach this realm, because of his good heart. It also makes sense why Major Briggs was killed by Mr. C, Cooper's doppelganger, in the third season, because he probably saw Major Briggs as a huge threat to him.

Fans also theorize that the main area of The Giant/The Fireman was the one who lived in the White Lodge. This is a pretty interesting theory, because this was one of the few realms in the show where everything felt peaceful, instead of like a threat.

I feel that Bobby Briggs also could have reached the White Lodge in some way, because of his father's good influence on him. Perhaps it was the destiny of Major Briggs to die, because in a way, he did protect his family from both supernatural realms.

I mean, the Red Room wasn't that dangerous, but this realm still had moments of dangerous moments.

I love how the White Lodge always remained a total mystery, and it's crazy how very few characters never made it to this realm. I think the only way to go to this realm was to get through the Black Lodge, but from what Dale Cooper went through, you know that things didn't exactly work out for him.

David Lynch did a great job with building up the White Lodge, only for this realm to never be shown on screen. It's genius writing, and it became one of my favorite mysteries within the show!
