The Running Man is Getting a Remake

Image
Credit to  Glen Powell-Led Running Man Sets November Start Date I'm happy to announce that The Running Man is getting a remake. Edgar Wright, the dude who helped to direct Shaun of the Dead is going to be behind this project! This is big news, and I know there is going to be so much potential with this one! The concept of a game show set in the future with people being forced to participate in games that will get them killed sounds like it's right up Edgar Wright's alley with filmmaking.  I wanted more of the game show in the original film, and while I thought it was hilarious how Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character kept throwing out pun after pun throughout the film, I’m curious how a gory game show would be like. And I'm happy to hear that Glen Powell is going to be the main star. I loved him in that movie, Hitman, so he definitely has the acting range for a role like this!

My Online Writing Journey with the Horror Genre Has Been Shocking

Image
Credit to Person in Brown Long Sleeve Shirt Using Macbook Pro Beside White Ceramic Mug · Free Stock Photo I think it would be easier to share how I’m doing on every single online platform in one article. Sharing separate articles would become a bit too tedious, so I want to share everything at once to show my progress with the use of the horror genre! So, here is my progress with all of my writing platforms: Substack: I got 4 subscribers so far. I don’t want to charge anyone to read my work, I believe in making everything free to read for my horror fans. Blogger: I have achieved 2,494 views so far. This is insane, and I barely started my blog sometime this year. My goal is to hit 3,000 before the month ends! Vocal Media: I have started a brand new writing platform, and I was in shock to earn $15.54 so far. I heard that this platform is hard to earn reads, but it looks like it’s working! My short horror stories are a big hit! Benable: I have already achieved reaching the $80 payou...

Horror Fans Would Love Baldur's Gate 3

Image
Credit to  Game Review: Baldur's Gate 3 is nothing short of an RPG masterpiece - The AU Review I have started playing Baldur's Gate 3 for the third time, and I have to say this any horror fan would adore this game. It has everything that horror fans would love: Vampires Ghouls Giant spiders A lot of gore Monsters A dead dragon as a boss fight  Psycho killers  Possession Witches Demons The list is endless. I adore this game to death, and I love how the game does not hold back on any of these horror related stories. Heck, you can even romance a vampire named Astarion, who is quite the cheeky and hilarious bastard. It's one of the best games ever made, and I hope we will one day get a Baldur's Gate 4.

I Now Have a Threads Account

Image
Credit to  Is Threads Safe? Here’s Everything You Need to Know Ever since I heard about Threads through multiple writing platforms, I said screw it, and decided to give it a shot. I was not expecting Threads to be similar to a community platform. After going through several online posts, I was surprised to see so many people posting about the horror genre. It feels like I found my community, and I think it’s awesome how many horror fans are on Threads! I have been posting a lot of random horror topics. I think it’s really cool to see people interacting with so many of my topics, it’s like I’m having a literal conversation with horror fans. Here is my Threads account if you are interested in checking me out! :D Emily Garcia (@emyquinn66) • Threads, Say more It surprises me that people can get paid through the number of views and followers you receive on Threads, I suppose I will find out how it works once I become monetized. I’m so determined to make money through any kind of...

Warfare is a Realistic Depiction of War that Will Leave You Terrified

Image
Credit to Warfare Review: A Hell of a “War Is Hell” Movie I finally got to watch Warfare on the big screen. It was the last day to watch this film before it was taken away from theaters, and I was so happy I got to check it out!  I watched the film in the morning, and I was the only one in the theater.  I do tend to talk to myself when I’m freaking out during a movie, but only if I’m the only one in the theater lol.  I ended up doing plenty of that during the entire film. This movie broke me.  We follow a true story of what a group of soldiers endured in war. And damn, this is by far the rawest form of war I have seen in a film. I like how the film did not focus on a full-on action story like some war films tend to do. This one only focused on one location throughout the whole movie.  The soldiers are fighting in another country against an army, and they take refuge in the home of a family.  I absolutely could not stand the family parts, you fel...

Cannibal Holocaust is One of the Most Controversial Horror Films Ever Made

Image
Credit to Prime Video: Cannibal Holocaust Cannibal Holocaust is probably one of the most messed up horror films ever brought to screen. I’ve seen a lot of horror films that have surprised me with how much they got away with on screen, but this film…it really stayed with me in the worst way.  And that is because I haven’t even seen the film.  I heard and read enough true facts behind this film that have left me in shock. I can’t believe the director even got away with creating this film. Of course, the film did lead to one huge consequence that I did not see coming.  I think once you’re done reading this, you might freak out with what you’re about to find out. I’m going to leave a warning here, because the facts behind this film are pretty disturbing. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.  3. The film featured extremely graphic content that left a lot of viewers disturbed.  Credit to In the Jungle: The making of Cannibal Holocaust (2003) | MUBI I ha...

Re — Animator (1985) Features One of the Most Evil Villains in Horror

Image
Credit to  Lovecraft Story That Was Adapted Into Gory 1985 Cult Classic Is Getting A Remake I am going to watch  Re — Animator  in theaters tonight for the 40th anniversary. While I am pretty excited to watch this film on the big screen, I will never forget the first time I had seen this movie. I was in so much shock by the amount of gore present in the film, and I can’t believe the director was able to get away with everything that takes place in the story. It’s considered to be a Lovecraftian horror tale that contains a love story that is caught in the throes of evil. A couple named Dan and Megan are caught in a horrible world of evil science experiments, that involve bringing back the dead. Dr. Herbert West meets the couple, and reveals his special syringe that is able to bring back the dead. His experiments lead to nothing but chaos and death. And perhaps the biggest tragedy is what Dan and Megan go through at the hands of Herbert West. Like seriously, this dud...

MaXXXine is a Wonderful Horror Conclusion to the “X” Trilogy

Image
Credit to  MaXXXine en streaming : juste à temps pour Halloween Maxine is now in the decade of the ’80s, finally gaining the opportunity to star in a horror movie. Things are looking up for her. After what she went through in the past, she deserved to finally gain the spotlight she has been searching for! Unfortunately, Maxine finds herself being hunted down once again by evil, as a mysterious man, dressed in all-black, murders people that Maxine knows or cares about. Maxine desperately tries to avoid this confrontation, as she desires to become a movie star, and no longer cares to put herself in a horrible situation, due to her trauma from what she went through in  X . No matter how much she tries to avoid running into this new killer, she is pulled into this cycle of evil, when she stumbles across a familiar face she never thought would ever hunt her down. The twist of the villain was really shocking, I loved how this reminded me of an 80s slasher where the killer rev...

Pearl is a Wicked and Horrific Start to a Memorable Horror Trilogy

Image
Credit to  Halloween Horror: Pearl (2022) — 3 Brothers Film Have you ever been so impressed by and scared of a character at the same time? Mia Goth pulls off such a likable character with terrifying tendencies of murder and mayhem. Pearl  is actually a prequel to one of my favorite horror films,  X , and is the middle chapter in a trilogy. This trilogy was directed by Ti West, and it featured Mia Goth playing two different characters, as both the antagonist and the protagonist in this trilogy. The prequel starts off Mia as the villain, Pearl. Unlike the protagonist, Maxine, that has her dreams come true, Pearl isn’t exactly given the same happy ending. If it hadn’t been for her killer self, maybe she would have had a chance in the ‘star world.’ Instead, we are given a total downfall of Pearl embracing her monstrous side, killing anyone that stands in her way. Pearl is determined to leave the farm and start a new life elsewhere, but her present life consumes her. I’...
