Resident Evil Requiem Looks Like a Promising Horror Entry for the Franchise

Image
Credit to  Buy Resident Evil Requiem | Xbox I have watched a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, and it looks like it's going to be another worthy entry for the franchise. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard introduced an actual scary game, while Resident Evil: Village did a mostly action-packed game with old school references.  Resident Evil Requiem appears to be a combination of both games, introducing two different points of view for the story. Leon is going to be the combat heavy point of view, while our new character, Grace, is going to be the survival horror aspect. I love how realistic the character of Grace feels. Putting a brand-new character that has no experience in the world of Resident Evil is a genius move, because we will be feeling the fear of the horror we are already familiar with.  It's also so cool that Grace has absolutely no experience with guns, like in one part with Leon during the demo, when he hands over a gun for her to use in combat. We see Gr...

Why Evil Dead Rise is the Most Disturbing Film in the Franchise

Image
Credit to  Evil Dead Rise (2023) - IMDb While every single Evil Dead film is pretty disturbing in their own ways, I think the fifth entry is the most messed up film in the entirety of the franchise. Evil Dead Rise features a family as the victims this time around, that are targeted by demons after one of the family members opens up the book of the dead.  This film instantly does not hold back on the family's struggles to survive, and the first thing that the demons do is possess the mother of the three children. Her sister is the one left to protect them from the demon's wrath, determined to defeat the evil plaguing her family. Every single loss in this film feels like a gut punch, knowing that this is a family we are watching getting broken apart in such a horrific way.  I felt so sorry for the sister, knowing that her own sister was the first to die, along with her nephew, and one her nieces. What's even more horrific, is that the dead family members even merge i...

I'm Having a Lot of Fun with My YouTube Channel...and My Brain Feels Weird

Image
Screenshot of my YouTube Channel I have recently been working on my YouTube channel, creating a lot of random videos that contain some of my favorite horror movies, videogames, or even other random topics. My goal is to eventually reach about 2,000 followers one day this year, and I'm determined to make that happen! I'm planning to upload a video every 5 days, that will be based on random topics that come to my head once in a blue moon.  I was planning to write a random article on another horror topic today, but my brain feels like a wire is loose from my thoughts/ideas.  This article will be my shortest one yet, but I still wanted to write something for today.  I told myself that I would post one a day on this site, or in another other writing platform that I use! I know that I missed a couple of days in the beginning of the month, but I'm determined not to lose my posting streak!

The Rot & Ruin Zombie Series Features Despicable Villains that Will Get Under Your Skin

Image
Credit to Rot & Ruin, Vol. 1: Warrior Smart by Jonathan Maberry | Goodreads I feel that the Rot & Ruin book series written by Jonathan Maberry is one of the best zombie stories ever made. This is kind of like another version to the franchise of 28 Days Later, but instead, we follow the story of 4 kids who are thrown into the zombie apocalypse. I thought the series was going to be mainly for teenagers to become interested in, but the author throws a huge curveball, by focusing on young adult audiences instead.  While we do follow the point of view of 4 kids, the series does not hold back on the journey of what these poor kids go through. They face against some of the worst villains I have ever seen in any sort of zombie horror media. The humans depicted in the series are all so disturbing in multiple ways, to the point where I actually got scared of what was going to happen to these poor kids.  They face against a huge gang in the first two books, that were fille...

I Prefer Making Longer YouTube Videos for My Horror Channel

Image
Credit to Unlock the Secrets of YouTube Video Editing: Pro Tips for Content Creators — Blog I have learned something about myself during my YouTube journey so far in 2026. I think I like to work on longer videos for the channel. I recently finished uploading my longest YouTube video, that took about two hours to edit and publish on YouTube. I also had a lot of fun making the thumbnail for the video, because I did not want to use a random picture that had already been uploaded to Google by someone that most likely made it.  I tend to stick to horror topics, because sticking to one niche can make your channel fun, instead of feeling like a chore every time. I had actually started an old channel in the past, and it was not fun for me at all. I found myself questioning why I wasn’t getting enough views all of the time, and it started to take the fun out of the channel for me. I had deleted the old channel, because I was frustrated by my lack of skills to making a YouTube video, ...

Voss was my Favorite Indiana Jones Death in the Franchise

Image
Credit to  All Emmerich Voss Cutscenes - Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (4K) I love how the Indiana Jones franchise is known for having over the top deaths. While the Dial of Destiny gave us a cool concept, I felt like the death scene of the main two villains was pretty lackluster. Just when I thought the Indiana Jones franchise was over, I was surprised to see a continuation through the videogame format. I thought this was an interesting take for the Indiana Jones franchise, and I was so impressed by the game: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, due to the incredible story that we got. It felt like I was watching the original trilogy, and it was even more awesome to learn that the game's events take place after the first film: Raiders of the Lost Ark.  The first film featured raw and gruesome deaths, and I was not expecting to see another brutal death again after the first movie. The death of Voss in the game was so INSANE, and it was brilliantly made by the develo...

Why the First Silent Hill Movie is Loved by Fans of the Franchise

Image
Credit to Where there’s smoke, there’s witches movie review (2006) | Roger Ebert While I’m still trying to get over the utter failure of Return to Silent Hill, at least I have the first film, that I can always return to. This was made by the same director who made Return to Silent Hill, (I don’t know how he messed up this movie so bad, compared to the first one), and this film feels just like the Silent Hill games that fans love.  There are quite a couple of differences, but it works so well, due to the pretty good story that we get in the film. It has the same gritty and disturbing feel that the videogames pull off so well, and it works for the fans too. The first two Silent Hill games are combined to create the first Silent Hill movie that was released in 2006, and the combination feels pretty damn accurate to the games. We follow a young woman named Rose, who adopts a little girl, who is struggling with horrendous nightmares. Rose learns that her daughter is a reincarnati...

Send Help is an Entertaining Gore Bath that Subverts Expectations

Image
Credit to  “Send Help” Tickets Now Available from 20th Century Studios I think this is going to be one of the most unique and surprising horror films to be released in 2026. It has literally been almost two decades since Sam Raimi made another horror film this intense, and wow, he did not disappoint! I was so glad that I went to check out the early prescreening to the film, the story took so many twists and turns that I did not see coming! The audience I got in the theater also added to the experience, because it was kind of hilarious to hear the shocked reactions of everyone around me. It’s 100% the perfect horror movie to watch with an audience! It was disgusting, violent, and filled with dark comedy moments that honestly killed me multiple times in the theater! Warning: Please turn back now, if you don’t want any spoilers to the film! It will be coming out next Friday, on January 30th, if you want to check out the film for yourself! We follow the story of a woman named Li...

Return to Silent Hill was Ruined by Multiple Changes to the Story of Silent Hill 2

Image
Credit to  ‘Return to Silent Hill’ Movie Review: Christophe Gans Returns to the Fog with Little to Show for It - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Before I begin, I have to admit, that I haven't seen Return to Silent Hill yet. But after reading multiple reviews by the fans of Silent Hill 2, and reading the actual plot to the film, I had to talk about it.  Because I cannot believe how vastly different the movie was to the game, and these differences were so awful, that it pissed off a lot of fans. Silent Hill 2 is in my opinion, is my favorite horror game ever made. Once the remake was released in 2024, I bought the game upon release, and I instantly fell in love with the reimagining of the original game.  The movie doesn't bring that same magic to the table.  I don't understand why there were multiple rewrites to the story of the sequel. I would never have believed that this movie was made by the same director who made the first Silent Hill ...

The Real Reason Why the Cult Killed Their Guests in Midsommar

Image
Credit to Midsommar Movie Ending Explained: The True Meaning of the Film Midsommar, one of the craziest horror films that involve a deadly cult popped into my head recently, all because of one thing that baffled me. Sure, the entire film was an unexpected roller coaster, but I could not get over the fact of how dumb the main cast in the movie was.  And I’m not saying that the writing was bad for these characters.  The characters were purposely written like this.  The main group consisted of Christian’s friend group, that was the boyfriend of Dani. Every single person in this group was kind of a piece of shit. But I think that was the intention of the director when it came to the people who were picked to die by the hands of the cult.  One of the friends was a guy named Pelle, who was part of the cult. It’s heavily implied that he had selected this group of people, because he knew that they would be the perfect victims for the cult. The group consisted of Mark,...

Supernatural Wasted the Potential of One Villain in the Final Seasons

Image
Credit to  Prime Video: Supernatural — Season 14 While Supernatural has become one of my favorite shows, there are several flaws that I wish could have been given far better potential. I think when it comes to their use of several villains, some of them are either overused, or extremely underused for the show.  One specific villain that I was disappointed with both the little use of screentime and storyline, was the cosmic terror known as The Empty. This villain instantly caught my attention, when we got the first glimpse of this thing after Castiel dies again. He awakens in The Empty, where he meets an entity that takes on his own form, mocking him. This creature came off so threatening upon first meeting, and I was looking forward to seeing more of this villain.  Unfortunately, I felt that the villain didn't get a proper storyline for the show. The Empty was such an interesting villain. This thing reminded me of Lovecraft horror, an unknown horror that obviously ...

Mary: An Awakening of Terror is One of the Best Horror Novels I Have Read in Years

Image
Credit to  Amazon.com: Mary: 9781250265234: Cassidy, Nat: Books I don't normally write a separate article about books anymore, but I felt that this book deserves to be discussed. I never thought in a million years that I would find another PERFECT horror novel, that I would consider one of the best horror stories ever written. For me personally, The Season of Passage written by Christopher Pike is my most favorite horror book ever written, and I think Mary: An Awakening of Terror is a close second. This story is expertly written, and it's pretty rare for me to praise writing within a horror story, but this one deserves an award for its craft. This story has all kinds of horror genres that you can think of, and it's all blended perfectly into this one story.  Warning: Major spoilers are going to be discussed in this article. Please read the story if you don't want to hear about the main plot points in this story! We follow the story of a woman named Mary, who has felt ...

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a Worthy Addition to the Franchise

Image
Credit to  Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Bringing ’80s Movie Magic to a 2024 Game - Xbox Wire I never thought we would ever get a great Indiana Jones story again. After the last two films didn't do so hot with fans, I thought that would be it for the franchise entirely. Then I was shocked to learn about a new story being added to the franchise, a videogame that features Troy Baker as Indiana Jones. I had some doubts about Troy Baker playing such an iconic character, but I found myself impressed with how well he was able to pull of Harrison Ford's voice.  That was my only doubt about the game, and I knew that I had to somehow get my hands on playing this game one day. I eventually purchased the game around late 2025, and once I started to play the game, I couldn't stop. The story was so immersive, and it really felt like I was watching an actual Indiana Jones movie! The way that the game was made was pretty cool, it's a simple game that really sucks you into the ...

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is Diabolical Madness

Image
Credit to 28 Years Later sequel releases chilling first-look trailer | Radio Times I was beyond thrilled to finally watch 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, and I think this is going to be one of the best horror movies of 2026. Hell, it already deserves the title of horror movie of the year, but we still got even more horror movies in store for the rest of the year!  The Bone Temple is everything you want in a horror movie, and it’s one of the best experiences I have had with a horror film in a theater. I had watched the film in XD, and I was not expecting the film to be so freaking loud. It definitely added to the experience, and damn, I was both disgusted and shocked with the events that take place in the sequel! We are introduced to another reign of terror, that ends with a powerful sign of hope, that perhaps suggests that humanity is indeed not too far gone. WARNING: I don’t normally give out spoiler warnings, but in this case, I’m going to issue one. This film deserves to...
